Hey Good Looking: Lauren Lydia Fatale Alternative Model

As you may remember, my first Hey, Good Looking Feature was about  Aubrey London and the hair and make-up tutorials that granted her the status of a pinup beauty guru. I kept an eye out for other pretty ladies making their way for their beauty, in the alternative scene and the result is a new feature! I interviewed an alternative model who has worked with big names such as Kitsch Kaos to Sailor Jerry and is more than a pretty face, at the end of the day. Curious? Read on!

You have been modelling for both big and smaller alternative companies in the last few years, but that's not your only job. How did your fashion and modelling facett come about?

My mom actually suggested it. I was a tomboy when I was a kid. A little punk rock skateboarder. I kept getting asked to model when I was a teen. I'm glad she convinced me to try!

What does working as an alternative model consist on?
Being unique, bold, daring, and not afraid to try new things.

How do you feel about the alternative fashion market today, with all the new styles and variants besides the sudden overload of model aspirants?
As long as young girls are happy with being who they really are, the more beauty the merrier!

Name your top five aestethic influences/idols and tell us why.

Gwen Stefani
She is a beautiful, stylish mom who isn't conventional and isn't afraid to be herself even after two beautiful children.

Elvira
Because she's the mistress of the dark! And loves monsters like I do.

Charlie Chaplin
A true pioneer in the early film industry, and a dapper fellow as well!

Tattooed women
I have always found vintage tattooed women to be most elegant.

Louise Brooks
My grandma was a flapper. So I grew up admiring women of the roaring 20's. I still have one of her dresses! Also, Louise Books represents my favorite era of film.

Please share a picture of your daily glamour/everyday wear and describe it!

I'm either wearing jeans, white tank and chuck taylors. Or, a dress and heels.

What do you fancy the most about being Miss Lauren Lydia Fatale? I absolutely love my life. I couldn't imagine being happier. I love being a model, an artist, and a bad film actress. But most of all, I love being a mommy.

Do you have a wisdom cupcake for the Sailors and Sailorettes reading?
Never be afraid to be yourself and grab life by the cahones. Carpe Diem!
